A Lot Of Poems

For quite some time now, I've had a lot of poems that I've left on the computer, and here they are.

Why?

Why have you been so deceiving?
What made you tell these lies?
It’s causing a pain within my soul.
You’ve known it would all this time.

They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
His little spies
They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
His little spies

I can sense the pain within your soul,
Your words, they say it all.
And just for that I’m willing to forgive you,
But the truth still is too painful for me to bare.

They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
His little spies
They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
His little spies

I hope that things can be the same.
I hope I can see the better person you’ve become.
But what you did is so degrading, it’s gonna take a little while.

They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
His little spies
They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
His little spies

Learn from your mistakes.
Make worth of this stupid pain.
Go on, stand up, and rise to the stand.
Open your mouth to testify and say-

Why was I so deceiving?
What made me tell these lies?
It’s caused a pain within my soul.
Now I testify:
It’s because-

They taped over my mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
His little spies
They taped over my mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
Satan’s little spies

Satan’s little spies.

<(Some of you may have noticed that the chorus is from "Crush Crush Crush" by the rock band Paramore. I really like the song and it has some sort of lyrical trickyness to it... or something like that. The last line was altered to fit my interpritation.)>

Tell Me Your Secrets

Show me your diamonds, your jewels, your silver, your gold.
Tell me your secrets, don’t treat me so cold.
You have the great riches of life that I need.
Oh, tell me your secrets so

That I may live like you
That I may live like you
That I may live like you
Oh, I want to live like you!

I noticed your life seems to go the right way.
You never seem to have a life like mine.
Don’t you want others to be happy like you?
Oh, tell me your secrets so

That I may live like you
That I may live like you
That I may live like you
Oh, I want to live like you!

A secret ain’t good if it is not shared.
Spread it worldwide, for the good of mankind.
I beg you please, to tell me secrets so

That I may live like you
That I may live like you
That I may live like you
Oh, I want to live like you!

If you give me your secret, which would be so kind,
I’ll travel the world so that others may find

The way to live like you
The way to live like you
The way to live like you
So that others may be happy like you!

<(This song is comes from my thoughts on a good friend. He never went to a church and although I can't say he missed something, he might be happier with the gospel in his life. His dad died a while back, and he can't know for sure what happens during death. I'm sure the pastor (or was it a priest?) at the funeral gave him comfort, but he may still have questions. I always wanted to share the gospel with him, but I never did for some insane reason. He recently moved to Georgia, so my chances have gone WAAAAY down. So, if you have someone that you want to preach the gospel to, DON'T LET IT SLIP BY!)>

Midnight Moon

It’s a midnight moon, I’m coming for you.
I know you love me, but I’ll just bring you to doom.
You think I’m coming to have a night with you,
but that’s not really what I’m here to do.
I’m here to stop what shouldn’t have started.
It’s probably gonna end with you broken-hearted.
I hope that doesn’t have really be so,
But I have to do this even if it causes you woe.

Someday later, when you stare up at the sky,
And see the big sphere of glowing light.
I hope you remember what I did for you,
on the night of that midnight moon.
Oh!
Midnight moon
On the midnight moon
On that midnight moon
On this midnight moon.
Oh,
I hope you will remember what I did for you,
On the night of this midnight moon.

You love me and I love you.
And this is why I’m doing this, it’s for you.
I know it’s hard to face the facts.
But I’m not helping you stay on track.
I’m no good, I’m your evil influence..
I’m even more than a little nuisance.
I was the puppet of the Father of Lies
Who brings you down to Hell for you to die.

The only good I’ve done ever for you,
Is what I’m about to do.
You may think I’m crazy, insane, or wild.
And you’ll begin to whine just like a child.
Listen to me, oh, can’t you see,
That I’m trying to help you be clean and free!
Heaven is obtainable if you do one thing,
And that’s to forget everything about me.

I hope you’ll remember cause it was all for you.

<(This is probably one of my more... odd ones. Looking back on it, I could relate it to the song "Hate Me" by Blue October. I came up with the rough-begging in the strangest of places - Geometry Class. Despite me never watching or reading "Twilight," the idea spawned from that. I knew that Edward couldn't be with Bella for some reason or another. That fact with dark aspects such as vampires, moons, and with a soon-to-be melody influenced by Marilyn Manson created this song. It is a fact that I hate Marilyn Manson, but his music does have a creepy effect in it, which is a little bit of what I expect in this song.)>

Forgive

We started off so great,
Friends all the way from start.
But we started to feel the hate.
The hatred tore us apart.

And throughout all the years, my distaste for you grew.
Out of all the people in the world, jerks were very few.
And I don’t know, maybe it was me who made some of those mistakes.
Let’s face the facts, we both made mistakes.

(Chorus)
Come on, dear brother, since the war is past.
For friends at first are friends again at last.

I know that we can make amends.
Just please forgive me, cause I’ve forgiven you.

I didn’t like the way you acted.
Your size was your advantage.
But I’ve forgotten many fights we’ve had,
And only remember a few.

And that’s the point I’m trying to make.
The fights were not that important, if I can’t even remember them.
And maturity has now kicked in, let’s be a little more grown up.
And be friends once again.

(Chorus)

Whatever mistakes we’ve made, let’s forgive and forget.
Let’s put it all behind us and start with a new slate.
Don’t let our souls burn at the stake.
It isn’t any use to hold a grudge.
What a worthless thing to lug!

Come on, dear brother, since the war is past.
(Brother the war is past!)
For friends at first are friends again at last.
(Move on and be friends again!)

I know that we can make amends.
Just please forgive me, cause I’ve forgiven you.

<(This one is actually quite recent. It is inspired by a lesson we had in seminary. We are told to forgive EVERYONE, no matter what the crime. I have a friend who was the BIGGEST jerk to me. (Okay, maybe the second biggest, but the other wasn't a friend.) He was rude, slightly ignorant, and just wasn't what a friend is. He was a bully. He did some pretty horrible things to me emotionally and even in small, physical ways. Despite my (recent) hatred for him, I've decided that I must forgive him. It hasn't really messed my life today anyway, so why keep hating him? This song is like a statement of forgiveness. I should actually get a hold of him or something. You may notice the first part of the chorus is a quote from a letter from Joseph Smith to W.W. Phelps. He was one of the few responsible for the imprisonment of Joseph Smith in Missouri. (I think it was Missouri.) When Joseph was released, Phelps pleaded for forgiveness. As you can guess from that quote, he received it. I thought that might be pretty cool to add in a poem/song, so I did.)>

And that about does it. I still have loads of ideas, but those will take time. There is actually one more poem I've written, but the time to reveal it has not come. I also need some music for this, so if anyone comes up with some, that would be awesome. I promise that I will not still credit. Also, if you could tell me which poem is best so far, that too would be great. My other poems are scattered throughout my blog.
See Ya!

AND YES, I'M 100% SERIOUS ABOUT THE MUSIC!  (IT'S IN CAPS, BOLD, UNDERLINED, AND IN RED. IF THAT DOESN'T CONVEY THE SERIOUSNESS, I DON'T KNOW WHAT DOES.)

  2. Wow...I like the one about forgiving your friend and asking forgiveness too. Its such a true statement. And you know, that friend you are speaking about sharing the gospel with...maybe you should contact him on FB. He's on my friend list and comments sometimes. AND, he is really really really into his music. You two were the best of friends for so long...it doesn't have to be over. ;-_)

  3. I must say that I am very impressed with your poetry! Keep it up. Poetry can be very cathartic... writing really helped me sort out a lot of my emotions and help me feel like I could get a lot out.

    Great blog!
